Description

SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision, this position performs simple millwright, carpentry, electrical, machine repair, welding, painting etc. to maintain equipment and facilities.  Leads the Maintenance Technicians who directly report to the Maintenance Lead.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Using work orders and machine specification documents, determines machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Operates forklift to move materials needed and Scissor lift to perform work at ground and aerial levels.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and determines best means for maintenance and repairs, whether it be outsourcing or performing the work in-house.
  • Inspects and/or tests damaged machine parts, and marks defective areas or advises supervisors of repair needs.
  • Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoist and reassembles equipment after the completion of work.
  • Records production, repair, and machine maintenance information in proper format and record system.
  • Sets up and operates machines and adjusts controls to regulate operations.
  • Performs general construction work, painting, drywall, carpentry, and grounds keeping as needed.
  • Completes preventative maintenance tasks on equipment as detailed in preventative maintenance program.
  • Orders and picks up parts as needed.
  • Pursue training opportunities for self-advancement.
  • Lead and Assist in training and advancement for other maintenance staff, technicians, and operations team members related to equipment and processes.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean per company standards.
  • Works safely and follows all company rules and procedures.
  • Provides support to the Operations Team during peak production season.
  • Attend required interdepartmental functions for keeping stakeholders informed in maintenance activities.
 
Position Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree, Trade School, or an Apprenticeship Program completion in relevant field or skill set.
  • Three to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Functional working knowledge of general hand tools such as drills, grinders, sanders, welders, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of and can demonstrate an understanding of basic electrical, pneumatic and automation controls.
  • Functional knowledge of and can demonstrate an understanding of electrical circuits ranging from 12VDC to 480VAC.
  • Functional knowledge of basic HVAC, industrial oven and industrial washing system related to operation and maintenance.
  • Functional knowledge and can demonstrate an understanding of internal working of dust collection systems.
  • Two to five years related experience with technical servicing of automated CNC controlled equipment such as, but no limited to, metal forming, welding, robotics, automated routing (wood), automated finishing systems, etcetera.
  • Ability to interact effectively and build relationships with internal and external customers. 
  • Able to write effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills in programs like Outlook, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced and team based smaller company.
  • Agile learner.
