The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical services support company which has a successful 50 year history of providing the United States Military with acquisition, logistics management, engineering, design, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services, is seeking a well qualified individual for a position as Senior Trainer I (Staff Battle Trainer COC).
The COC trainer must be well versed in MAGTF Operations at the tactical level for Company through Regimental infantry, logistics, and aviation combat operations. Must have a strong background in maneuver control systems and fire support, with an emphasis on integrating fire support coordination with ground operations utilizing the family of C2 systems fielded as part of the COC Capability Set (CAPSET) version III and IV.
Specific Tasks
Coordinate COC related training for home station units.
Assist in developing COC staff training schedules and updating the MISTC Training Employment and Exercise Plan (TEEP) with this information. The COC training must be in synchronization with the supported unit TEEP.
Coordinate COC related training requirements with home station unit Information Management Officers (IMOs), Training Officers, and the MISTC training staff.
Advise the MISTC Site Director on issues dealing with C2 systems integration within the COC, formal COC training, and coordinating immediate COC training requests for deploying units.
Deliver quality COC Battle Staff instruction in support of C2 training and education at each MISTC.
Instruct Marines, commanders, and staffs on the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of C2 systems employment, integration, and usage within the COC specifically associated with the art of C2. This includes integrating the information available by effectively harnessing C2 technologies to support a commander's decision-making process. This instruction will focus on C2 systems employment in support of Watch Officer and /or Watch Chief duties, and how the various watch standers within the COC interact to provide information that optimally supports the commander's decision process and battle rhythm.
Provide subject matter expertise, feedback, and input to the COC Program Manager via approved C2 TECOE channels.
Provide input to the C2 TECOE Curriculum Development Branch for changes and/or improvement to the COC BST Program of Instruction (POI). Participate and provide input to the COC BST Course Content Review Board (CCRB). Must understand the Instructional System Design (ISD) approach to POI development.
Provide expert knowledge on the operational employment and TTPs of the following C2 systems and software applications in the COC operating environment: Army Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS); Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below/ Blue Force Tracker (FBCB2-BFT); FalconView; Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC); EMT; Common Logistics Command and Control System (CLC2S); Command Post of the Future (CPOF); Intelligence Operations Server (IOS v1); Battle Command Sustainment Support System (BCS3); Transportation Capability Planning Tool (TCPT); Theatre Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS); Intelligence Operations Workstation (IOW); and SharePoint MOSS 2007 and supporting C2 systems/software applications found available for use by the regimental/battalion Combat Operations Center (COC).
Provide services that support BST training and the following systems in the COC: C2PC, IOSV1, AFATDS-EMT, FBCB2-BFT, CPOF, BCS3, TBMCS, IOW, and SharePoint MOSS 2007.
Provide services equivalent, or similar to a COC Watch Chief with operational experience utilizing one of the following COC configurations: (1) CAPSET IV for an Infantry Battalion, Combat Logistics Brigade (CLB) or Squadron; and (2) CAPSET III for an Infantry Regiment, Combat Logistics Regiment (CLR), or MAG. Examples of operational experience include deployments supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and/or Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).
Provide instructional services that will train Marines in position location information (PLI) reporting; unit track management procedures, and how to develop the Common Operation Picture (COP) for unit commanders and their staffs.
Participate in Course Content Review Boards (CCRB) and training plan meetings sponsored by the C2 TECOE Curriculum Development Section and the MISTC Site Directors to aid in development of written and visual training scenarios for the COC BST continuum.
Provide an understanding in computer networks, network topologies, and how to employ and operate the COC voice and visual communication systems.
Provide after actions reports to the training unit. This includes: (a) Evaluating the unit's COC Standard Operating Procedures; (b) Evaluating the unit's performance in relation to the COC BST POI and Marine Corps' C2 Training and Readiness Manual.
Work with internal and external organizations that are in support of the COC program for the Marine Corps, to include other C2 TECOE and MISTC Instructors and COC program office representatives.
Conduct and participate in education and training research studies to resolve COC related training issues. Assist in the development of new and/or modified training techniques, methods, and practices that impact the effectiveness of the COC BST process.
Confer with the COC POI Manager and representatives from the COC program office to coordinate the production of computer-based/Web-based training.
Coordinate BST with personnel from the Marine Corps' Senior Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy (SNCO), Infantry Operations Chiefs Course, and formal Marine Corps schools.
Provide training services equivalent to the standards established for Marine personnel who have attended a military instructor certification course or civilian equivalent such as the Marine Corps Formal School Instructor Course or Instructional Systems Design (ISD) course.
Provide support services with contract personnel eligible for, and maintaining a SECRET clearance, and who have recent operational experience (e.g.; OIF/OEF).
