Seventh Generation is looking for a Search Analyst to join our team of scrappy digiteers. The principle role of our new Search Analyst is to ensure that our total search ecosystem – both paid and organic – is continually optimized for business success. In addition, the person in this role will help build out a digital analytics practice, providing analysis and insights based on metrics from a variety of digital touchpoints. This role requires both hands-on work with the relevant tools and vendor management.


Paid Search

  • Manage search agency relationship, including:
    • Campaign planning, implementation, adhering to budget, monitoring and optimization of paid search campaigns, tracking to longer-term ROI metrics.
    • Aligning keyword coverage to product & brand communications strategy.
    • Identify and act on opportunities.
    • Drive planning & execution of A/B tests, landing page optimization.
  • Partner with Creative and Brand teams to enhance keyword coverage, ad copy performance, and conversion rates.
  • Report & analyze on key performance indicators, testing and optimizing on a continual basis.
  • Analyze industry trends, and competitive landscape to exploit expansion & optimization opportunities.
  • Analyze user behavior on landing pages and conversion funnels using web analytic tools.

Organic Search (SEO)

  • Research and recommend SEO opportunities, maintain top-notch SEO best-practices on our web sites.
  • Provide ad-hoc keyword research supporting product launches and content strategy, recommend and implement on-page enhancements,
  • Stay current with new advances in search engine marketing, competitive landscape, and keyword research.
  • Maintain SEO tags on the Seventh Generation web sites, adhering to best practices.
  • Monitor and report on our organic search presence, progress, competitive field.
  • Perform regular audits, in collaboration with search agency partners.


  • Develop a regular and meaningful digital analytics and insights reporting practice, in collaboration with other members of Integrated Communications.
  • Coordinate, contribute to, and distribute monthly/quarterly reporting for digital touchpoints.
  • Manage Google Analytics, search console, and webmaster tools, ensuring appropriate metrics reporting.
  • Collaborate with the other marketing channels to exchange data observations & learning.
Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years proven experience in search marketing
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Effective writing and editing skills.
  • Internet marketing concepts, practices, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience with some or all of: Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, SEMRush, Moz, and/or similar tools.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Experience with CMS
  • Ability to attend to details, manage multiple tasks and priorities, and report out on project details in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment and for a socially responsible business
