Summary:

IT Specialist (Network Support) for the Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG) at the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). The AWG, headquartered at Fort Meade, Maryland, is the lead organization to provide the Army with global perspective and expertise in full-spectrum training, planning, and execution of countermeasures to AW. The AWG personnel are seasoned war fighters and functional area experts who identify and develop Army solutions for AW capability gaps. AW are operations conducted by any government or non-government entity (including terrorists, guerillas, militias, and paramilitaries) to limit military effectiveness while achieving their political objectives. AW operations are conducted at the strategic, operational, tactical, and cyber levels to attack military and civilian targets. Objectives of these AW operations are to undermine U.S./Allied political, military, economical, and psychological strengths and the will to win.

The AWG provides observation, analysis, training, and advisory support to Army and Joint Force units to enhance their capabilities to predict, mitigate, counter, and defeat asymmetric threats and methods. The goal of AWG is to improve the capabilities of the U.S. Army at the operational and tactical levels during the conduct of unified land operations. AWG enhances the capabilities of U.S. units by making them faster and more adept at identifying and attacking enemy vulnerabilities, and by preparing them for a broader spectrum of threats.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

· Support the AWG S-6 Server/System section with the installation, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software configuration of applicable vendor and client environments and tool sets; problem management resolution of issues and security compliance of systems for production readiness; infrastructure support through performance of administrative functions of unit hardware and software management tools.

· Process trouble tickets and phone calls (15 per week on average), initiating each ticket or call within two hours of receipt.

· Manage and update all network drawings, configurations, and related documentation.

· Manage and administer server OS implementations within two hours of notification.

· Monitor, administer, and troubleshoot the global network infrastructure within two hours of notification.

· Setup, configure, and manage 30+ deployable IP kits weekly.

· Administer the AWG server instances physical or remotely located at Ft Meade, and Ft. A.P. Hill, and other sites.

· Be available after normal work hours to perform troubleshooting and maintenance assignments when needed (on average one day per week).

Required Qualifications:

· At least 5 years’ experience in:

o Solarwinds and Cisco suite of software.

o Configuration, troubleshooting, installation, operation, and maintenance of Cisco Call Manager.

o Installing, configuring, and operating ISDN and IP enabled Video and Audio Teleconferencing.

o Interfacing wide area network (WAN) devices with terrestrial and satellite circuits, components, systems and hardware.

· Possess and maintain Security +, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification

· Possess and maintain a valid State of Maryland Driver’s License (operator’s license) at contract award, and at the Contractor’s expense.

Clearance: Top Secret security clearance.

Location: Fort Meade, Maryland

Travel: The Contractor may travel to other locations to include OCONUS military facilities and hostile fire locations (such as Afghanistan) when needed to perform network installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance (on average 60 days per year).
