Summary:
The Small Arms Towed Artillery Repairer Instructor provides Advanced Individual Training in weapon maintenance (Military Occupations Specialty [MOS] 91 F) to US Army Soldiers. Training includes classroom and hands-on instruction of performing field and sustainment maintenance on small arms, infantry weapons, and towed artillery. Through application of technical knowledge and leadership skills, the Small Arms Towed Artillery Repairer (91F) helps Soldiers learn proper weapon operation and further their technical and life skills.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
· Conduct Advanced Individual Training (AIT) by successfully training assigned Soldier-students.
· Provide service augmentation to the Ordnance School (ODS) so it can provide performance-oriented training as directed using the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) approved program of instruction (POI) in compliance with Government-defined instructor/writer-to-student ratios. This includes classroom training and/or hands-on performance oriented training, and simulation/virtual training.
· Assist in updating student and instructor records, student counseling, and administrative duties in support of the ODS
· Assist in training development by providing immediate feedback (within three days of instruction) and assist in updating technical content of lesson material
· Participate as a subject matter expert in developing revisions of the POIs, lesson plans, and training support packages to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction.
· Maintain up-to-date training records on all personnel
· Establish and maintain a training program and ensure minimum proficiency requirements
Required Qualifications:
· Small Arms trained and have a background in the 91 F/G/K series, 2111 Small Arms Repairer/Technician, 2112 Precision Weapons Repairer/Technician or completed a residential small arms repairman course or a Gunsmith course from an accredited institution.
· Able to perform Two Level Maintenance (Field Sustainment Level Maintenance) on small arms weapons to include shoulder fired weapons, handguns, machine guns, mortars and towed artillery weapons.
· Have knowledge of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding MOS or additional skill identifier (ASI)-specific training.
· Must complete the TRADOC MOS or ASI- specific technical training.
· Be proficient with Microsoft Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
· Have superior written and verbal communication skills and able to work with minimum guidance
· Possess a minimum of three years' specific experience in teaching, development or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for vocational or military training programs for the specific MOS.
· Able to pass the student test in accordance with OD Regulation 350-18 before performance begins.

Desired Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university
Clearance: Must pass a Tier 1 investigation that has been favorably adjudicated by the DoD CAF (or locally) for CAC eligibility and network access (IT-3 access for government.mil email account).
