Description

Under the supervision of the Dining Room Operations Manager, the Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily work performed by food sanitation specialists, cashiers and other workers assigned to them at NAFB dining facilities. Ensure completion of all periodic tasks as stated in the statement of work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Must be able to work with employees as a team to ensure the day to day operations is compliant with the statement of work assigned.
2. Designate shift and area work assignments for all staff assigned to your shift.
3. Frequently evaluates the performance of all employees assigned.
4. Notify Project Manager or Assistant of any problems or concerns.
5. Maintain ongoing training for all employees quarterly and document for quality assurance.
6. Set work priorities and job assignments for the staff assigned to your shift.
7. Assists in orientation of all new employees.
8. Must be visible during all meal periods and assure no smoking during meal times.
9. Maintains inventory of all supplies. Submits and updates orders as needed.
10. Responsible for incident reports and ID notes to assure the health and safety of assigned workers.
11. Ensures all work is performed in accordance with contract requirements and scope of work.
12. Responsible for performing daily and monthly quality assurance inspections as well as submission of reports to management on due dates.
13. Conducts other administrative duties as required.
14. Must interact with rehabilitation staff and clients.
15. Review time study standards to ensure they are established for all applicable work performed and are reviewed annually; ensures that changes to scope, material, method or environment that can impact standards are escalated and standards are reviewed and revised as needed.
16. Perform time studies and ensure they are completed accurately, on-time and employees receive correct wages at all times in compliance will all applicable Department of Labor regulations.
17. Perform basic currency handling processes.  Must count and verify the safe at start of each shift.  Also, count and verify all cash drawers at the end of each cashiers shift.
18. Must be able to operate the POS within 90 days of starting the position.
19. Must be able to work flexible hours along with weekends and holidays if needed.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to develop and maintain a cohesive team.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions.
• Ability to communicate, respond to inquiries and interpret instructions from management, contract representatives, staff personnel and workers with disabilities.
• Ability to define problems, collection of data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and count/exchange money.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Computer literate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Required: High School Diploma or its equivalent.
•  Required: A minimum of three (3) years work experience in the food service industry with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION
• Must possess valid Nevada Class C Driver’s License with no violations.  Must meet company insurance requirements and be able to drive a company vehicle.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES
• Ability to lift and carry up to (30) pounds.
• Ability to stand 90% of the day.
• Ability to climb, kneel and reach.
