Description

Basic Description:


Wastewater responsibilities:


  • Check and maintain chemical levels
  • Oversee cleaning of system.
  • Maintain filter press & clarifier on wastewater system.

Pretreatment responsibilities:


  • Conduct daily titrations, record results and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Check coating weights on Stage 4 and record results.
  • Work with chemical supplier on product testing and maintaining pretreatment supplies.
  • Assist in corrosion testing.
  • Conduct annual cleaning of pretreatment system.

Dip & paint line responsibilities:


  • Check paint line viscosity and temperature; make appropriate adjustments.
  • Oversee daily system start up; including oven, dryer and pretreatment system.
  • Work with dip/paint line personnel on break rotations, vacations and daily production when needed.
  • Conduct or assist in annual cleaning of dip tank.
  • Powder coat painting.

General responsibilities:


  • Order supplies for all three areas of responsibility. (Wastewater, pretreatment and paint)
  • Maintain SDS log for department.
  • Primary contact concerning chemicals used in area.
  • Conduct scheduled operator PMs and coordinate maintenance repairs.
  • Lift truck operation

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year manufacturing experience required.
  • Lift truck experience is preferred.
  • Must have good communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to help in ALL areas of the paint department when needed.
  • Must be willing to become certified in the following: respirator training, Lockout/Tag-out, HazComm, SDS training, PPE training, fire extinguisher training, crane operation, slings and straps training and confined space training.
  • Applicant must successfully pass an assessment of pretreat and wastewater systems prior to completion of probationary period.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours while bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Overtime will be required.
