MIS Technician 

Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Employee will be responsible for all cable needs, support of all software and networking, telephone system monitoring, backup processes, maintains all network devices as well as special devices that run throughout the Speaking Rock Entertainment Center network, and other duties assigned by M.I.S. manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Troubleshoot all VSE (Video Surveillance Equipment)

  2. Makes (moves/adds) and changes on the current Avaya phone system

  3. Monitors Egress system - Mag Locks and Swipe Devices

  4. Service & Support of different computer software (e.g. Digital Dining, QuickBooks, Microsoft 2000, XP Pro, Microsoft Exchange servers 5.5 and 2003, etc.)

  5. Provides trouble shooting on multiple hardware platforms - touch screen monitors, regular CRTS, PC hardware problems, printers, scanners, etc

  6. Maintains all network devices that provide connectivity for users and access to network resources and internet - switches, routers, and firewalls

  7. Maintains Spyware/Spamware and Virus protection though-out the S.R.E.C. network - Webshields

  8. Troubleshoot credit card readers

  9. Monitors on a daily basis workstations and servers

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

MIS Support Technician must have good technical trouble shooting skills, be creative, familiar with the different types of cabling - data, phone, audio, and video. Technician must be able to understand schematics and floor plans. Able to use AC/DC meters and other testing tools. Knowledge of Egress and video systems.

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred. Must be culturally sensitive to minority population especially Native Americans; must be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and criminal history background check.  Good oral and writing skills; must be a team player; Safety conscious a plus. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to use and climb ladders. Able to lift at least 50 lbs.  Must be able to crawl in small areas to input cabling.
