Engineering Manager

Astronics Ballard Technology (Ballard) in Everett, Washington is a wholly owned division of Astronics Corporation (ATRO). Position Summary:

As a result of growth, Astronics Ballard Technology is seeking to hire an engineering manager. This person will manage a team of engineers and projects that they work on. The ability to lead people, and to be effective as the person responsible for the development of highly-technical aviation products is key.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Functional management of a multi-discipline team of engineers
  • Set goals and provide performance feedback
  • Hire, manage, and develop employees
  • Understand the market environment that Ballard competes in
  • Lead projects from requirements to delivery in a structured engineering environment (AS9100)
  • Effectively balance project quality, scope, schedule, resources, cost, manufacturability, and risks
  • Transfer products from engineering to manufacturing team
  • Work as part of a team of managers to make effective tradeoffs between projects

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering and eight (8) years of progressive engineering experience
  • Desirable: 3-5 years of engineering management experience

SOX/404:

This position is responsible for the performance of various functions that may be an integral part of the Company’s overall SOX / 404 internal control structure.

Eligibility Requirements:

Position requires access to controlled technology and information. To abide by Export Compliance Regulations, candidates must have either US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Alien Status. Must pass a criminal background check prior to starting work.
