What are we looking for in a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner?
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners at Comprehensive are part of a multidisciplinary team that provides integrated behavioral health treatment to clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborating with therapists, case managers, nurses and other members the treatment team, Nurse Practitioners assist in the development of an individualized treatment plan for each client. Taking ownership of the pharmacological intervention, Nurse Practitioners complete psychiatric evaluations, prescribe appropriate medications, and provide general medical counseling and referrals. Our medical provider team has the opportunity to meet monthly to staff cases and receives regular supervision from the Chief Medical Officer. In this role, strong communication skills, the desire to work in a collaborative team environment, and the ability to establish trusting relationships with clients will be essential.
This position is located in our Sunnyside, Washington outpatient office, and will serve clients of all ages with varying mental health and substance use diagnoses. The Nurse Practitioner will spend the majority of their time treating outpatient clients. Two days per month, the Nurse Practitioner will travel to designated residential facilities in the Sunnyside area to treat our Expanded Community Services (ECS) clients. No rounding or weekend call is required; however, the Nurse Practitioner may participate in the Yakima rotation if desired.
Nurse Practitioner duties may include:
Professional Credentials: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license with psychiatric certification & Registered Nurse license (both in Washington State); federal DEA certification
Other Credentials Required: First Aid/CPR Certification, Driver's License, Vehicle Liability Insurance
