Description

The Human Resources Assistant will focus on day-to-day recruiting, maintaining compliance with employee files, assist with on-boarding and off-boarding, and support the Human Resources Director with Internship Program coordination. The selected candidate must have working knowledge of Human Resources and understand confidentiality. This position will report to the Human Resources Director

Essential Functions

The Human Resources Assistant has the following duties:

  • Screen and interview job applicants; review application and resume; evaluate applicant skills, and make recommendations regarding applicant's qualifications.
  • Assist with the performance review process.
  • Manage employee files, complete and maintain I-9 records.
  • Update HRIS database records and process paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes.
  • Assist the HR Director with coordination and management of the internship program and training.
  • Maintain HR documentation (policies, checklists, manuals, reports).
  • Conduct analysis on various HR metrics and present findings to HR Director.
  • Assist HR Director with research projects.
  • Proofread and provide content suggestions for HR documentation.
  • Provide general clerical support, plus other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Labor Relations, psychology, or applicable field preferred
  • Must have 1-3 years' experience in Human Resources and previous recruiting experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
  • Ability to write and present in a polished and professional manner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must have highest standard of organization and attention to detail

Working Conditions

Work typically performed in an office environment with the majority of time spent working on a computer. Some travel is involved.
