About the Organization Founded as a preschool in 1953, the Children's Guild has transformed into a national leader, recognized for creating innovative educational, child welfare and behavioral health models that produce positive outcomes for children, youth, and families. Today, the Children's Guild is among the most experienced child serving organizations in the Greater Baltimore/Washington region. Each year, the agency's continuum of care and its 300+ professional staff help thousands of youth and their families achieve resiliency, dignity, and self-sufficiency. We operate therapeutic group homes, a treatment foster care program, and family help center located in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County and Prince George County. We also service students in our nonpublic special education programs in Baltimore City and Prince George's County. The Children's Guild also operates public charter schools located in Anne Arundel and Baltimore City and will open our first DC charter school in September, 2015. The TranZed Academy for Working Students (TAWS) is looking for a Career Coach Superhero that will help students achieve their career and academic goals.


TAWS offers an innovative solution to keep working students on the path toward career and college through a combination of flexible academic schedules, career counseling and career preparation.

You Will:

  • Ensure students are on track to graduate and maintain their work performance
  • Provide career and individual counseling
  • Facilitate and model constructive problem solving with students
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to conflict situations
  • Report quality control of student and employer engagement data monthly
  • Assume responsibility for supervision of students through regular contact
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • A positive attitude and a drive to make a difference
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience working with students with significant barriers
  • Experience providing employment services, knowledge of the work world
  • Knowledge of human behavior and child development
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and listening skills
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment and software such as such as Microsoft Office
