We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to develop a variety of components for our camera products, including interfaces between our camera API and third-party applications, automated test utilities, and software tools for our manufacturing team. Industry experience is not essential. We’re looking for a very good academic record, some coding experience in a laboratory or an internship, and a great attitude. Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to: Development and maintenance of Thorlabs Scientific Imaging 3rd-party interfaces Creation of automated test fixtures and software test utilities Contributor to overall camera software and system test plans Contributor to development of proprietary manufacturing software tools Assist in resolution of SDK and 3rd-party problem reports Maintenance of existing software installer Qualifications Experience: Coding experience in the laboratory, an internship, or other formal setting Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in physics, electrical engineer, or computer science Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Some proficiency in C and C++ Willingness and ability to work on a diverse set of projects that utilize a variety of software languages and disciplines Excellent analytic, troubleshooting, and communication skills Python programming experience is desired Java programming experience is desired Experience with MATLAB and National Instruments LabVIEW applications is desired Software QA - knowledge of automated software testing frameworks in particular is desired Basic knowledge image or signal processing is desired Thorlabs values its diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
