Customer Service Representative Part-Time The City of Winter Garden is seeking a part-time Customer Service Representative/Office Assistant who will help provide administrative support to various departments. This position is truly the “face of the City,” as it will greet, provide information and assistance to both external and internal customers (citizens, vendors, applicants, coworkers and City management), while also performing administrative tasks and responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, energetic and will work easily in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, service-focused attitude and approach in helping all customers. With the City’s commitment to its Service Philosophy and Standards (Ownership, Responsive, Respectful, & Professional), a professional appearance and demeanor; positive and responsive approach; and a helpful, customer-focused demeanor is essential. Candidates must also be dependable, flexible and able to work 20 hours weekly with the ability to work additional hours when needed. Some weekend work may be required occasionally. Key responsibilities include: - Assist departments and key staff with projects as needed.
- Greet visitors and answer/route calls.
- Communicates with citizens, staff and other individuals requesting service or general City information.
- Perform varied administrative functions and forward messages and requests to appropriate personnel.
- Type reports, letters, memos, and correspondence.
- Set-up and maintain files and records.
- Order and maintain office supplies.
- Update forms, lists, and other department and City information.
- May accept various types of payment for bills and fees based on assigned work area.
Minimum qualifications for the Receptionist position include: - High School Diploma required (Associate’s Degree preferred) with 4 years of similar experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to pass clerical skills test and writing assessment skills as required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Considerable knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic
- Cash handling experience with the ability to count change back to customer
- Ability to understand quickly and accurately, written and oral instructions
- Ability to maintain moderately complex records and to prepare standard reports
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend, climb steps and lift up to forty (40) pounds
- Excellent grammar and ability to proofread documents
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (both reading and writing) is desirable, but not required
