Human Resources Specialist - Recruiting/International

Description

Recruits, researches, interviews, screens, and refers job candidates for job openings by performing the following duties. This is not a remote position, however occasional travel will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Works as primary contact for international recruiting agencies, as well as traveling students/applicants. Will act as primary liaison between Resort and transportation options, housing programs, etc.

Conducts Skype or other form of interviews with students interested in traveling abroad.

Develops cultural programs within the resort to meet the intercultural aspects of the J1 program, as well as for other employees throughout the resort.

Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.

Writes job descriptions or reviews and edits job descriptions written by others.

Develops recruitment programs, and collateral to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings.

Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.

Initiates contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings.

Reviews applications and may interview applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements, and to provide information about the organization and position.

Screens and refers candidates for additional interviews with others in organization.

Develops recruitment programs and collateral, such as brochures about the organization and its opportunities.

Writes and places job advertising in various media.

Develops and coordinates internal job posting program and writes job postings.

Coordinates participation in, sets up display, and works at job fairs.

Develops and maintains contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants.

Makes public presentations at schools, organizations, and job fairs regarding the organization and opportunities.

Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.

Utilizes Internet online recruiting sources to identify and recruit candidates.

Provides information on company facilities and job opportunities to potential applicants.

Arranges travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants.

Performs reference and background checks on applicants.

Coordinates communications with applicants.

Files and maintains employment records for future references.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

The ability to communicate with individuals with limited English speaking and writing skills. Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and time management skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Paychex HRIS Systems, My Staffing Pro ATS; Internet Applications; Paychex Payroll systems; Microsoft Office Suite of Products.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current Vermont Driver's License and be approved to drive under Jay Peak's vehicle policy.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must have the ability to remain organized and focus on competing priorities while working in a very busy office environment.

Other Qualifications

Must be willing to travel within the state of Vermont for Job Fairs and assistance in J1 student travel needs.

Must have the ability to work some weekends and a fluctuating schedule as needed.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Resort Conditions This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
