As the Project Manager, you are responsible for overall team management, effective client management, and for completing the work within established quality, budget, and schedule constraints. You are also accountable for the successful completion of the project and consistently delivering success through organized teamwork following best practices and PAE processes.


1. Leadership

  • Contribute with project goal setting and follows through with the team.

  • Lead effective team meetings and sets up team members to be successful.

  • Interview and create agreements with required consultants.

  • Lead the team to achieve project schedules and budgets.

  • Utilize Progressive’s Design Revolution Process standards for process delivery.

  • Model positive behaviors, values, mutual respect, collaboration and ethical standards of the practice.

2. Management

  • Lead project start up (project number, budget, schedule, team meetings, etc.)

  • Prepare and execute project plans.

  • Monitor and alert the project team when changes occur in the project scope.

  • May be asked to seal documents, when appropriate.

  • Prepare project history and collaborate in closing out projects

3. Staff Development/Retention

  • Mentor team members within area of expertise and may collaborate in performance planning with Technical and Team Leaders, when requested.

4. Project Quality

  • Orchestrate QA/QC milestones and events, lead team member coordination and ensure project compliance through checklists and project charter.

  • Lead team members to review project specific errors/omissions and assist with resolutions.

5. Financial

  • Plan, monitor and control technical costs and scheduled performance.

  • Lead the team to achieve project profit goals.

  • Review, monitor and update project financial reports in a timely manner.

6. Commitment to Client Service

  • Serve the client’s best interest and maintains positive relationships. Understand what it takes to make projects successful.

7. Business Development/Marketing

  • Define marketing opportunities; follows up on project.

  • Lead creation of proposals and participate in interviews.

  • Take the lead early in proposals and contract negotiations to establish scope of work, schedule and budget.

Position Requirements


  1. Bachelor's Degree in area of expertise, preferred. Master’s Degree a plus.

  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience.

  3. Good track record of effective team leadership and communication.

  4. Registered professional or hold a license, registration or certification in your area of expertise preferred.

  5. Advanced knowledge of project design and execution.

  6. Must have excellent presentation/communication skills.

  7. Working knowledge of typical architectural and engineering standards, processes, and policies.

  8. CSI - CDT and PMI/PSMJ certification.
