Title

peta2 Tour Crew Member

Description

Now accepting applications for Summer 2017.

Your Mission:

peta2 is the world's largest youth animal rights group. We arm young people with the resources to challenge their campuses to offer the most vegan-friendly dining halls, and to remind people who exploit elephants, tigers, orcas, and other creatures for entertainment that animals are not ours. We stand up to fast-food giants that scald birds to death, and demand cruelty-free alternatives from brands that abuse terrified sheep. If cruelty to animals is taking place, you can bet that peta2 will be there trying to stop it – and the tour crew is hard at work, reaching out at schools, at concerts, and at other events.

What should I expect during this internship?

Throughout this internship, you'll be teamed up with a peta2 staff member who'll act as your mentor. You'll travel the country and learn how to have an impact on young people while learning how we represent the peta2 program at outreach events. You will learn about various animal rights issues and how to answer the tough questions people ask about animal rights. It'll take practice, hard work, and persistence, but you'll learn how to deliver a strong message against cruelty to animals, and to push yourself to reach the widest possible audience. You'll help inspire others to get active by engaging with peta2 on social media, participating in peta2's mobile texting campaigns, and distributing compelling literature. You'll have the experience of approaching concert-goers to put your knowledge to the test, and your mentor will help guide you in improving your outreach ability through nightly recaps. Along with many other perks and learning experiences, crew members receive a $350 weekly stipend.
