Scope: Systems & Technology Research (STR) is seeking a highly motivated candidate with 2-5 years of contract administration experience in the defense federal government contracts and acquisition space.  This role offers unparalleled opportunities to gain valuable experience and take on leadership responsibilities in a wide range of contracting life cycle activities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Administer Government contracts in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other government regulations
  • Execute lifecycle contract administration functions, including negotiation
  • Define contract requirements and monitor performance
  • Provide advice and interpretation of contract requirements
  • Participate in proposal preparation and examine cost proposals to ensure compliancy, accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Recommend process improvements to scale and optimize contracting activities and practices
  • Participate in special projects
 
Position Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-5 years contract administration experience in support of federal government programs, particularly in support of programs under the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community
  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) and/or Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) I, II, or II or DAWIA Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition laws and regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) and agency specific regulations required
  • Ability to read and interpret federal regulations and related acquisition policies and guidance, and to apply those regulations in context required
  • Familiarity with various Government contract types (i.e., CPFF, FFP, T&M, Cost-Reimbursement, Labor-Hour) preferred
  • Security clearance (or ability to obtain a security clearance) preferred

  • Innovative, with an interest in working closely with STR’s Contracts Manager and other team members to optimize our contracting practices, while maintaining compliance with our core contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to change
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with external customers and partners as well as colleagues at all levels across the organization
  • Thirst for excellence and enthusiasm to expand his/her experience and take on additional responsibilities in contracting activities
