The Principal Engineer will lead development of a new SaaS platform for the future Ascentis projects.  We are looking for a leader with expertise in all areas of software development lifecycle as well as a broad technical skills base. This leader should be able to drive technology based platform development in close collaboration with the Director of Engineering, other developers, as well as Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Program Management Office teams.  Principal Engineer is the most senior non-management position at Ascentis.We are looking for very experienced engineers with prior experience building a SaaS platform architecture from the ground up. Responsibilities will include: Research, validate and recommend key technology decisions for our core applications and customer facing offerings Define core engineering process and standards for the development team Lead the design and development of a scalable SaaS platform that further the key strategic objectives for Ascentis and enhance our capabilities in Human Capital Management (HCM) marketplace. Work closely with engineers and Product Managers to drive ideas to implementation. Hands-on involvement in implementation and testing of core components (using open-source software such as Java, PHP, Javascript frameworks, Linux, MySQL/Postgres, etc) Ensure that the solutions are delivered within planned budget, timelines and with highest quality while using resources most effectively Where’s the Job?
