Disability Rights New York (DRNY) is currently seeking a hardworking and self-motivated Student Intern for our organization. DRNY is the Protection & Advocacy System and Client Assistance Program (P&A/CAP) for persons with disabilities in New York. As the P&A/CAP for New York, DRNY advocates for the civil and legal rights for New Yorkers with disabilities.
DRNY is looking for a student intern to assist our organization with special projects and assignments. The student intern will survey local, state and other organizations to obtain data; compile data for internal and public reports; and provide general administrative support; ensure that the project files are organized, and help produce proposals, plans, and reports.
This is an unpaid internship.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Student applicant must be enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university with a focus in communications, political science, or public policy (preferred);
Must possess exceptional writing skills;
Must be detail-oriented;
Committed to the mission and vision of DRNY (preferred);
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently; and
Ability to prioritize and manage projects and tasks to meet deadlines
Education/ Working Knowledge
Must have a 2.8 GPA or higher.
