General Winery Worker- Ceres, CA, US

JOB STATEMENT: A General Winery Worker (GWW) must be knowledgeable of all phases of bottling line operations, must foresee needs and potential problems and take appropriate corrective action must be familiar with recycling program.

Essential Duties:

  • Be able to receive, understand and implement written instructions, recognize product and chemical label types
  • Have ability to follow all material listings on Bill of Materials
  • Keep closure hopper (i.e. caps, corks or crowns) supplied with proper brand and type of closures and ensure hopper lid in locked down when not in use
  • Be physically able to lift and move 50 lbs objects occasionally, occasionally perform continuous hand stacking of full case products and transfer pallets of labels and other miscellaneous materials from bottling to mezzanine storage or rack storage areas
  • Keep machine attendants supplied with all necessary materials including proper labels and glue and keep hot melt adhesive pots full
  • Be knowledgeable of all production line positions in order to relieve for breaks or operational emergencies and be able to clean label machines during meal break down times
  • Transfer damaged goods to appropriate areas for reconditioning and participate in the rework activity
  • Be able to clean labelers in time allotted at breaks and lunches
  • Be forklift certified and do limited operation in order to make miscellaneous transfers and empty trash and recyclable waste in proper receptacles
  • Be able to evaluate and respond rapidly to problems in production and take corrective action, i.e. too many empty boxes on conveyor system, conveyor lines jammed or ejected materials
  • Keep bottling line and glue storage areas clean and clear of trash and debris including damaged material, slip sheets and glue spills
  • Will participate in all operational activities organized by supervisor during wine changes and maintenance down times, including rework, cleaning or line transfer
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Must complete all necessary paperwork

  • Daily bottling schedule, product profiles
  • Basic operation of uncaser
  • Flow of product around you
  • All phases of bottling line operation
  • Quality Assurance standards
  • Label and hot melt glue types

Ability to:

  • Relieve all job positions for breaks and emergency
  • Follow specific instruction of supervisor
  • Keep machine attendants supplied with materials needed
  • Keep bottling area floors clean
  • Help where needed to keep line running efficiently
  • Meet specified physical requirements

  • Side shield safety glasses, safety vest, head/ear protection and proper footwear when in production facility
