Senior Programmer Analyst*

May perform project management functions of system planning, specifications, scheduling, tracking and implementation. While managing a project, assigns, instructs and coordinates work of programmers assigned to that particular project. Constructs planning tables, matrix of dependence, Gantt charts, and CPM charts in order to construct and analyze the network of activities which make up a project. Determines exact status of projects and initiates corrective action when required. Consults with managers and other users to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements. Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs. Responsible for the design, coding, testing and implementation of the computer software used for the Cooperative's various data processing applications. Designs and develops n-tier applications using Java technologies. Solves business problems by working with enterprise relational databases through complex SQL operations or stored procedures. Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs. Performs feasibility studies and implementation planning to examine the costs, time, and compatibility of projects with hardware and other programs. Conducts a detailed analysis and study of requirements to develop and maintain integrated systems. Researches and evaluates software and hardware to assist in programming or to use as program platforms. Maintains existing software applications for corrections, enhancements, or system environment changes. Performs the necessary documentation of computer programs to ensure adequate understanding of design logic, interfaces, modifications, and testing procedures. Writes and maintains technical specifications. Coordinates assigned functions with appropriate personnel throughout IS, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of new software applications. Monitors performance of programs after implementation. Assists in other areas of the Information Operations Department as needed. Performs other duties as assigned in order to meet the overall objectives of the department.


Position Requirements Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Minimum of four to six years related experience and/or training.

Job Knowledge: Receives very general guidance with respect to overall objectives; work is usually quite independent of others; operates within division or department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives. Writes messages that are clear and highly consistent with standard business English. Utilizes complex computer operations (advanced programming, relational databases, and operating systems) and advanced features of software packages (word-processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.) Must be able to manage or contribute to multiple competing projects, priorities, and deadline. Must exhibit a command of all stages in the Software Development Lifecycle - Requirements Gathering, Design, Code Development, Testing, and Implementation. Must have a competent understanding of current IT software development paradigms and technologies. These technologies include JAVA, JSP, Javascript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, Spring Framework (AOP, JDBC,ORM, and MVC), Hibernate, C/ C++, UML, SQL, Microsoft .NET, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Web Application Development, Relational Database Administration, Sybase, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server. Must have a competent understanding of current IT network and server technologies. These technologies include UNIX, TCP/ IP, Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Citrix, IIS, Tomcat, Apache. Must have the ability to budget hours. Plans complicated projects. Presents complex concepts. Understands Accounting, Marketing, Finance, Quality Assurance, Sales, Outside/Inside Telecommunication Engineering, Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, Supply Systems, Tech Support, etc.

Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use of hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear and lift up to 25 pounds. Vision Requirements: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Working Conditions: Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. May work in moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic. Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a technical nature.
