Financial Analyst

Develops complex financial analyses, business models and proformas. Provides analytical support associated with new service/business opportunities, M&A proposals, key performance indicators, and other ad-hoc analyses that influence strategic decision-making. Responsible for applying qualitative and quantitative measures to interpret data, formulate reports, and make recommendations based on research findings. Utilizes advanced analytical software to generate reports that support financial analysis, including: Hyperion/Oracle, ESRI, Business Objects, and the Microsoft product suite. Recommends, reviews, and presents various management, financial, and operational reports and both historical and proforma data relating to the company’s finances and operations.  Responsible for performing and maintaining various routine functions of the finance department. Assists as needed in the development of the annual operating budget for the Cooperative. Assists in ensuring the integrity of the company’s physical inventory and supplies including all procurement and supply functions.  Assists in maintaining the Cooperatives membership activities including the capital credit process and the Annual Meeting. Performs other duties as assigned in order to meet the overall objectives of the department.  

Position Requirements Experience: Minimum of one to six years related experience and/or training. (This position is expected to be filled as a Financial Analyst I or II; depending on the skill, knowledge and ability of the selected applicant.)

Job Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Business or other related discipline and/or equivalent experience required; however, a BS in Finance is preferred. Advanced professional degrees, such as Master of Business Administration, and/or certifications (CPA, CMA, CIA, CFM, CTP), preferred. Receives very general guidance with respect to overall objectives; work is usually quite independent of others; operate within division or department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives. Must be a self-starter; able to easily perform tasks or solve equations with limited information. Identifies and corrects errors in calculations. Summarizes and/or compares information and trends in a single graphic. Summarizes and/or compares information and trends among more than one workplace graphic, such as a bar chart and a data table showing related information; in order to accomplish this, the examinee must sort through distracting information. Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.) Knowledgeable working experience with the following software, preferred: Microsoft PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook. Hyperion Planning, Web Analysis, Workspace, Essbase, SmartView, and Business Modeling, PeopleSoft ERP, and Business Objects. Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, preferred. Extensive work with software; applicants must demonstrate proficiency in learning and using software solutions. Understands the operation of moderately complex tools, machines, and systems. Applies elementary principles underlying the operation of physical systems. Understanding of the basic process of outside plant construction, CPE installation, Network construction, cable and electronics used in operations is helpful.

Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use of hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear and lift up to 50 pounds. Vision Requirements: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) Working conditions: Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature. Good communicator; work with all levels of the organization from interns to management
