We’re looking for a web developer who is ready to become an integral part of the Shift4 Marketing team. What do we mean by integral? Well, we mean we want someone who is not content to sit in the corner and mindlessly crank out code. We want a developer who is excited to be part of a fast-paced, collaborative, creative work environment; someone who is ready to brainstorm with our professional designers, copywriters, and managers – to take ownership of projects and bring fresh ideas to the table. You don’t have to be an extrovert, but you have to be willing to share your ideas and expertise in a collaborative, friendly environment.

We’re looking for a candidate who enjoys solving problems, is passionate about programming and technology, and who keeps up with the latest industry trends. Your talents will ensure Shift4’s site (which we recognize is a few years dated) rapidly evolves to be sleek, effective, and optimized for mobile and all of the major browsers. This position will tackle various projects that span the entire spectrum of front-end development (e.g., websites, HTML emails, landing pages, etc.). Enterprise in the dynamic programing tools and languages required to get all of this done in a timely manner is vital. And, while the primary focus will be on front-end technologies, the ability to work with server-side programming using ColdFusion is also expected.

This is a full-time, in-house, salaried position. Due to Shift4’s stringent security policies, no freelancers will be considered.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain all company websites, Web applications, and HTML emails while ensuring strong optimization, cross-browser compatibility (including mobile), and functionality
  • Convert designs into complex user interfaces using interface technologies such as ColdFusion, HTML, XML, CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript
  • Work closely with the design team to develop and organize innovative site maps, architecture, and interaction flows for Sales, Marketing, and Development strategies
  • Be highly conversant in digital media and best practices for website, email, and mobile content delivery
  • Analyze, review, and modify Web applications by maintaining, documenting, testing, developing, and monitoring performance and user experience
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new Web technologies as they emerge
  • Participate as an active member of an experienced, energetic Marketing department on a fast-paced development schedule
  • Assist in search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM)
  • Other duties as assigned by management 
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert in using the dynamic programming tools and languages required to complete various corporate website and internet application initiatives with the ability to apply best practices, working methodologies, and processes
  • Ability to write raw (non-WYSIWYG), table-free, and syntactic HTML/CSS markup
  • Strong debugging skills and knowledge of cross-browser/platform compatibility (including mobile)
  • Proficient in HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL
  • Ability to integrate Javascript frameworks such as jQuery, and jQuery UI
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with server-side scripting in ColdFusion
  • Knowledge of other languages such as PHP or ASP.NET is a plus
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable
  • Must be pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude
  • Ability to create admin applications for data management is a plus

Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Computer Science (preferred), other information technology-related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with HTML, XML, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL Server, and ColdFusion desired
  • Experience in e-commerce and/or in the card payment industry is a plus

Salary Range $55K- $75K Commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications
