SUMMARY

Promote specification writing services, analyzes blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time and cost estimates for projects. Meet with architects, promote specification services and write specifications by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Contact architects in regard to leads to discuss and promote LaForce specification writing services. 

-Meet with architects and other interested parties to discuss needs of the project. 

-Meet with architect and owners to discuss selections. Develop a winning strategy on each project. 

-Edit and write specifications to fill the architects and owner's needs. 

-Negotiate with vendors to secure advantageous pricing. 

-Assist Specification Technicians. 

-Assist estimating in maximizing benefit of specification.

-Assist sales in maximizing benefit of specification.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university. Must possess experience in the architectural or construction field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
-Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
-Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
-Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
-Ability to make effective presentations to professionals.
-Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors.
-Ability to interview architects to determine the needs of each project
-Thorough understanding of building codes.
-Ability to lead conversations to a conclusion beneficial to the company.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
-Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
-Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
-Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
-Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
-Ability to think strategically and develop a complex game plan.
Ability to evolve the game plan while discussing it, and lead all parties to a “buy-in' of to the game plan.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
LaForce will assist you in your application for apprenticeship as an Architectural Hardware Consultant and to attain your certification as a Construction Document Technician.

Additionally, a valid driver's license with clean driving record is required.
