Description

 

Develops, directs and manages Airport projects and is the primary Company liaison with the client.  Aviation projects may include baggage handling systems, gate systems including passenger boarding bridges and their associated sub systems and passenger security screening check point systems as well as other Airport projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities

 

  1. Administrative supervision of multi-discipline engineering staff.

  2. Oversees and coordinates complete airport systems design including delegation of project assignments, coordination of work by engineers and assures coordination with other project team disciplines.

  3. Develops and maintains client relations and supports business development activities including assistance with proposals, interviews and client tracking.

  4. Oversees and coordinates airport systems studies and reports.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Job Qualifications

 

This position requires Registration as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience with airport projects.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be familiar with construction cost estimating, phasing and scheduling

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively; to express ideas; to share information; and to prepare clear, well-organized correspondence, reports and similar documents

  • Must be familiar with airport practices and procedures.

  • Experience and proficiency in managing large; multi-disciplinary engineering projects through every phase of development and delivery.

  • Requires proficient understanding of project planning and scheduling, budgeting and time management.

  • Requires basic understanding of airport system controls, engineering economics, statistical methods and energy calculations.

     

Travel  

  • Some travel is required.

 

 

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Must have ability to pass the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security and/or other screening requirements

Physical Demands

 

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
