Digital Archival Assistant, Digital Management Services (DMS) 

Description Job Summary
The Digital Archival Assistant supports ingest, cataloging and distribution of assets within the DMS platform.

Duties and Responsibilities
•Support digitization, ingest and delivery of assets in digital and media asset management systems; assist Digital Archivists with preservation activities as needed
•Monitor and route DMS help requests and issue reports submitted by Academy users to the DMS JIRA ticketing system
•Support user onboarding and training
•Assist with implementation and monitoring of data governance and processes
•Work cross-departmentally with Academy curators and archivists to manage efforts to preserve, describe and make accessible digitized and born-digital archival materials
•Assist DMS Manager with documenting policies, procedures and workflows for managing digital collections and communicating policies to Academy staff
•Assist DMS Manager with data mapping, validation and migration; and quality control and testing of systems as needed
•Assist Digital Archivists, DMS Manager, and Academy staff with requests for digitization and monitoring progress of project workflows
 
Position Requirements •Degree in archive studies or library information science or equivalent industry experience preferred
•Knowledge of motion picture history preferred
•2+ years experience with digital asset and/or collection management systems
•Demonstrated knowledge of digital and moving images, motion picture and video history and technology; and principles of archival collection management
•Sound technical knowledge and hands-on experience with collections and digital asset management systems
•Familiarity with still image, audio, video and digital file formats
•Familiarity with digital preservation and digitization processes
•Familiarity with metadata standards, types of metadata, and prior cataloging experience
•Extremely detail-oriented and experienced with standard computer word processing and database software
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment where consultation, flexibility, collaboration and cooperation are essential
