General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales Parts Distribution Center Charlotte, NC has needs for qualified Electrician Journeypersons. Working under minimal supervision, the Electrician Journeyperson is responsible for layout, installation, repair and preventative and predictive maintenance of electrical equipment and circuits, verification of lockout tag out processes and placard and complying with all Electrical Safety Work Practices as well as all applicable codes and standards.
Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment / facility systems
Analyze and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment and related components, diagnosing and correcting the problems quickly
Perform electrical preventative and corrective maintenance on all equipment
Promote teamwork and show a willingness to work with other departments
Participate in continuous improvement activities and Global Manufacturing System (GMS) activities
Read and interpret drawings and wiring schematics
Demonstrate strong problem solving skills
Perform work in elevated positions (e.g., from lifts)
Interested individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications:
U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as an industrial electrician or six (6) years of documented experience as an industrial electrician (notarized documentation required).
Ability to work any shift and work some overtime including daily, weekend, and holidays
Be at least 18 years of age;
Be eligible to work in the United States;
Submit to a drug test and background check.
