Program Supervisor I - Children's Services 

Description

The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority has a full-time position available for a Program Supervisor I - Children's Services to perform difficult professional and administrative work coordinating and supervising clinical and case management activities, supervising the work of staff within a program, ensuring the quality of program services, coordinating services with other divisions and community partners, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinates and oversees activities; sets program priorities; monitors and evaluates service delivery in accordance with established guidelines and principles; develops and enforces program policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the recruitment and selection of program personnel; assigns, directs, trains and inspects the work of staff; disciplines, coaches, counsels and evaluates staff performance; recommends suspensions and termination; develops staff schedules and approves leave.
  • Coordinates meetings to discuss client/program/staff concerns or changes; consults with teams and committees in the planning and development of treatment and discharge plans.
  • Oversees attendance; ensures health and safety records are current, to include emergency contact information
  • Oversees the coordination of services; coordinates treatment with other service providers and client support system.
  • Oversees and monitors the program budget; manages and maintains program supplies; processes purchasing and billing documentation.
  • Develops and monitors groups; completes clinical documentation and progress notes on children of clients.
  • Monitors and audits clinical and medical records and practices for compliance with regulatory, reimbursement and agency standards; reviews documentation for accuracy.
  • Conducts direct care with children of clients; assists with activities of daily living.
  • Provides crisis intervention and prevention services to individuals and families; provides consultation and education to staff and clients.
  • Serves on a variety of committees as directed; attends and participates in a variety of meetings.
  • Attends professional conferences and trainings as required.
  • Sets tone for the facility; manages the curriculum
 
Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

This full time position requires the skills and abilities of a trained child care provider who is able to supervise the assigned staff and the activities of children in a structured setting.  Must have a working knowledge of the social/medical/psychological needs of the treatment population and their children and the ability to identify and report areas of need and improvement for the individual child and groups of children served by this element of the program.  Must be able to participate in a multidisciplinary team process to blend the needs of each of the children within the structured group and individual activities of the Children’s Services Center.

  • Master's degree with coursework in early childhood education, social work, psychology, counseling, education, or related field
  • Considerable experience in child care setting, additional experience with individuals diagnosed with mental health and /or substance use disorders
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience in a structured children’s services setting preferred.

Special Requirements

  • Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Infant and Child CPR certification
  • Standard First Aid required

Starting Salary Range $50,892.17
