ACH Specialist (a.k.a. Master of Payments)

Stanford Federal Credit Union is looking for a dynamic ACH Specialist to join the Electronic Financial Services (“EFS”) Team. We are seeking someone who has the ability to manage multiple processes, collaborate well with others, and get the job done!

Here’s what you can expect day to day:

The ACH Specialist will wear many hats in the financial payment world. On any given day you may: processe ACH and share draft returns/disputes/fraudulent items/stop payments, make independent decisions to return or pay these items, ensure ACH and wires are scanned for OFAC/BSA requirements, independently verify and acknowledge any OFAC hits, work to resolve member disputes/complaints/questions, use your judgement on posting or returning wires for errors/mismatched items, ensure ACH originations are entered in core system, create and uploaded to Federal Reserve, process government reclamations and make decisions on deceased accounts.  Basically, you’ll be the “Master of Payments!”

What you’ll bring to the position:

Successful applicants will have completed a college degree and have five or more years experience in a financial services, accounting, or otherwise relevant environment.  Candidate must have at least one year of working experience actually processing ACH in a financial capacity.  

In addition, the candidate should have general knowledge of banking transactions; i.e., ACH, incoming/outgoing wires, interest posting and basic knowledge of OFAC.  The candidate should also be familiar with regulatory requirements; i.e.,  Regulation CC, etc.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

One or more years in a related experience or otherwise relevant environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience

A four-year degree (BS, BA, BSC, etc.) from an accredited College or University; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
