Description

SUMMARY: 

Under the general supervision of the Head Teller or Assistant Branch Manager, tellers perform a variety of customer service and related duties to provide service to the bank’s customers in conformance with established bank policies and operating procedures.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Organizes work station for the day’s activities: inventories, cash and requests, cash as may be needed from supervisor, verifies cash upon receipt, obtains necessary forms and supplies.
  • Processes a wide variety of customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and payments; cashes checks within limits of established policy accurately and efficiently; redeems bonds; assists customers with questions and cross-sells products.
  • Participate in the sales process of the office which includes attending weekly sales meetings and meeting assigned product referral goals.
  • Balances cash drawer daily for both cash and transaction totals in accordance with bank teller difference policy.
  • Is aware of and complies with CRA guidelines and policies and the bank’s non-discrimination policy.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Performs a variety of related clerical and/or support functions assigned; i.e., routine correspondence, telephone inquiries, filing and maintenance of records.
  • Balances the ATM machine when necessary.
  • Administers safe deposit services when needed

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: 

  • None

 

 
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Previous customer service experience, including up to one year as a teller
  • Proven organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to use various types of office equipment including a personal computer
