Part-Time Wellness Specialist 

Description

This position will partner with external clients and internal resources to analyze emerging trends in employee wellness and human resources, assist in the development of wellness and HR initiatives and programs, and provide other enhancement options to help clients meet their goals and improve overall organizational effectiveness and culture. This position requires a well-developed knowledge of employee wellness as well as strong project management and consultative skills.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assess clients’ organizational health and wellness needs and assist with developing a holistic strategy.
  • Work in conjunction with Benefits Producers and Consulting Services on design of programs and services to meet clients’ wellness goals.
  • Conduct research, analyze market and cost factors, and partner with clients to develop recommendations and strategies to meet their organizations’ goals.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the wellness offerings of relevant medical insurance carriers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and carrier representatives.
  • Coordinate the request of reporting and data from carrier to client.
  • Coordinate carrier-offered services – such as biometric screenings, online health assessment, and other programming – and help client develop employee communications for these offerings.
  • Coordinate and manage interaction between vendors, clients, and internal resource staff.
  • Keep abreast of trends, new developments, and current legislation in human resource management with particular emphasis on wellness plan regulations and/or legislation.
  • Provide corporate wellness advice/guidance as it relates to using data to enhance the effectiveness of a program’s design and development.
  • Identify and cultivate wellness partners in support of AllHealth Wellness Lite.
  • Contribute ideas for new or expanded wellness offerings to be promoted by the Consulting group.
  • Provide operational support and subject-matter expertise to the delivery of AllHealth Wellness Lite.
  • Serve on Allegacy’s Wellness Committee and help drive internal wellness programming.
  • At all times, maintain a professional demeanor to include, but not limited to, integrity, organization, client confidentiality, and positivity in an ever-changing environment.
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA
  • Working knowledge and experience with group benefits required
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations regarding employer wellness programs
  • Intermediate Level Microsoft Word and Excel Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to independently monitor trends and use analytical judgment to provide wellness program recommendations
  • Ability to work in a highly-charged, entrepreneurial environment as well as within a team
  • Project a positive, energized, and professional image
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate it into recommendations
  • Ethical and highly self-motivated
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Education and Experience

  • Education Required: Associates Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience Required:  Three – five years’ experience in a corporate wellness environment. Experience in developing strategy and implementing wellness concepts across multiple sites.
  • Experience Preferred: Previous Human Resource experience including working knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • License/Certification Preferred: PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
