Job Title:  Member Relations Manager (NNAAC)

Employment Status: Full-Time

Job Summary: Under limited direction from a senior level manager, the Member Relations Manager is responsible for managing NNAAC’s relationship with our member organizations, and growing our membership.  This includes developing quality resources, programming, networking and skill building opportunities for members, providing customized assistance that responds to individual member requests and implementing efforts to increase membership.  It directly impacts ACCESS’ mission by growing our reach nationally and playing a leadership role in improving the standing of the national Arab American community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement opportunities for members to be actively engaged with NNAAC through programming, affinity groups, networking and special initiatives or projects.

  • Develop and manage a process for identifying comprehensive needs of NNAAC members and connect them with the resources they need to move forward.Effectively respond to requests from members and provide them with timely and relevant information.

  • Recommend and develop new member programs and services.

  • Deeply understand the vision, mission, programs, strategies, and capacity needs of NNAAC members.

  • Develop and manage a process for member feedback on NNAAC programs and services.Analyze data related to member growth and experience, and use data to drive decisions, make adjustments based on performance, and inform strategy.

  • Work across all NNAAC programs to provide comprehensive support for the members and make recommendations for changes in services.

  • Inspire the members to move together to advance the collective vision of NNAAC/ACCESS – a just and equitable society with the full participation of Arab Americans.

  • Act as a liaison between members, ACCESS and partner organizations

  • Create and maintain updated internal profiles on all NNAAC members, including programming, capacity needs, advocacy activities, self identified goals of growth, their visions, and our engagement with them.

  • Plan and execute special events for members that may include conferences, trainings, webinars, and/or regional gatherings.

  • Actively identify and recruit new NNAAC members.

  • Manage the membership application process.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Advanced concepts, practices and procedures in nonprofit management.

  • Related community resources providers.

  • Processes, rules and regulations of various services and funding agencies surrounding the eligibility and maintenance of the services being received.

Skill in:

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Office.

Ability to:

  • Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.

  • Inspire confidence and passion in external audiences to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.

  • Be an innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and results.

  • Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressed.

  • Objectively gather information, identify linkages and trends and apply findings to assignments.

  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Handle stressful situations and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner.

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Speak and write in English. Ability to interpret, speak and write in Arabic, Spanish or other native language of the predominant service population a plus.

  • Maintain confidentiality of agency and client information.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

Minimum Degree Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Required Disciplines:

  • Social Sciences, Non-Profit Management, Business, Public Administration, or related field
  • At least 3-5 years experience working in a nonprofit organization, with specific experience in training coordination, event planning, relationship building with community stakeholders and capacity building consulting. Experience working with Arab American organizations and grant writing helpful. Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Hours:            Normal business hours.  Some additional hours may be required.

Travel required: Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time

Working Environment:         Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.
