Outside Vertical Sales Associate

Position Description

As a member of the Sales team, the Outside Vertical Sales Associate will develop new business by aggressively selling Shift4 solutions.

A successful candidate for this position will be able to leverage an existing network of contacts and prospect for new business opportunities. Additionally, the candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to interact with Shift4’s business partners, merchants, as well as internal staff at all levels, including executive leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Develop recurring revenue streams for Shift4 with no cap
  • Contact prospective customers to present our enterprise payment solution, DOLLARS ON THE NET®, as well as its associated products and features
  • Network by using business directories, following leads from existing partners, and attending tradeshows and conferences
  • Represent Shift4 at trade association meetings to promote company products and solutions
  • Regularly meet with the executive team to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote new business
  • Direct and coordinate activities for selling products and services
  • Establish and develop new accounts
  • Demonstrate and maintain a favorable image for Shift4 and our merchant customers, including being a Shift4 advocate and guiding business partners to be as well
  • Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability
  • Provide weekly documentation for the Shift4 partner status report, documenting the status of each assigned partner relationship
  • Other duties as assigned by management  
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong product demonstration and sales techniques
  • Strong knowledge of the payments industry
  • Ability to gain the extensive technical expertise required to sell Shift4 products and services
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors, and company contacts
  • Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Persistence to overcome obstacles and get things done

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or a minimum of 2–4 years of experience, or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Experience selling POS/PMS solutions
  • Proven track record for building and managing an industry vertical, such as retail, hospitality, and/or e-commerce
  • Existing network in retail, hospitality, or e-commerce accounts

Salary Range Salary plus commission. Commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications
