Calling all outgoing students: Vectorworks, Inc. seeks an Events Intern to join our team for a dynamic internship opportunity this spring/summer. The ideal candidate is someone who can inject a little fun into their daily efforts.

The Events Intern will work along the Events Manager in event preparation and coordination. You’ll have the opportunity to assist in planning company’s special events, including the weekly luncheons, reception dinners, holiday events, etc. Think you have the energy and enthusiasm to have some fun organizing our company’s events. Responsibilities:

  • Assists in preparing and coordinating all logistical aspects of company sponsored events
  • Assists in communications around event management including BEOs, timelines, calendars, reports, diagrams, etc.
  • Requests estimates, reaches out to vendors, and interacts with all departments within the company
  • Provides support in all employee, candidate and guest travel including lodging and ground transportation when applicable
  • Assists with employee discount program
  • Assists in establishing and developing relationships with vendors
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (junior or senior) or recent college graduate (6 months upon graduation) in the area of Business, Marketing, Communications or similar degree with an interest in Hospitality Management and Event/Meeting-planning
  • GPA: above 3.0

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • At least 6 months – 1 year of previous internship experience in special event planning/coordination, or project and volunteer management preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as a contributory team member

  • Superior planning, time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to successfully collaborate with multiple personalities and communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to use discretion, judgment, tact and poise in regards to confidential and sensitive information privy to the HR department team members

  • Requires approximately 10% travel

Preferred Skills:

  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to work with the team to achieve the HR departmental goals

  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite a plus!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • While flexible in the number of hours worked each week (16 - 20 per week), this is a paid position that will run from Sept 11th through Dec 15th, 2017
  • You must be at least 18 years of age with a degree in a related discipline or be a graduate or undergraduate student entering your junior or senior year
  • We currently do not provide relocation, transportation, or housing reimbursement costs

2017-2018 Internship sessions:

  • Fall: Sept 11 - Dec 15
  • Spring: Jan 17 - May 11
  • Summer: June 4 - Aug 24
