Nature and Scope

Learning and maintaining a working knowledge of Allegacy’s policies and procedures, core system, products and services, and sales and member service will be instrumental in creating an effective learning experience for participants. A successful incumbent must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to make presentations to varying audiences across the organization. The individual must be reliable, dependable, well-organized, and able to work independently and within teams.

 

The Learning Specialist is responsible for facilitating the learning curriculum for Financial Center Operations positions and for support staff to include but not limited to, core systems, sales and service, personal and business product knowledge, lending, and new initiatives training.

 

Emphasis is placed on the ability to guide the professional development of Allegacy Federal Credit Union staff and act as a resource to answer questions and support the strategic goals of the organization. The Learning Specialist works closely with teammates and many leaders across the organization to enhance the learning experience and to influence performance.

 

Specific Accountabilities

 

  • Delivers outstanding service to both internal and external service that meets or exceeds our Service Promises.
  • Completes all required compliance training including BSA
  • Meets or exceeds established service goals
  • Ensures thorough understanding of expectations and consistently exhibits Synergy Wheel behaviors
  • Provides dynamic and engaging development programs using a variety of delivery methods (face to face, elearning, webinar based, etc.)
  • Uses internal evaluations and verbal feedback to enhance learning materials and to promote and support more efficient learning experiences
  • Maintains industry knowledge and trends by participating in learning events and by reading learning newsletters
  • Participates in employee and organizational events to enhance exposure and community involvement

  • Demonstrates strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to engage audiences by using strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to consistently apply adult learning principles to adapt training to meet the needs of the audience
  • Identifies ways to measure the effectiveness of training and subsequently reports on these metrics to department leadership
  • Works closely with teammates and leaders to assist in special assignments
  • Works independently on assigned project(s) with timely deliverables
  • Ability to use ADDIE model to design, develop, and deliver effective training
  • Maintains flexible work schedule to achieve individual and team goals
  • Maintains Learning Management System

 

 

 

 

 
Position Requirements

General Accountability

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Allegacy Federal Credit Union in living out its mission, “to help you make smart financial choices” and support the expected behaviors of the Synergy culture.  To achieve this goal the employee must provide outstanding service to both internal and external members. In addition, this position requires proficient communication and technical skills to ensure a credible learning experience is provided to all new hires and to all employees promoted to newly assigned job responsibilities.

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 to 5 years as a trainer in the learning industry, training experience in financial services industry preferred
  • Prior experience analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and facilitating learning events for positions of all levels of an organization helpful
  • CPLP certification preferred.
