SUMMARY
Ensures maximum uptime and comfort in all conditioned spaces at all company sites. Performs day-to-day work associated with all HVAC, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, ductwork, computer room conditioning and building automation systems. Always presents a friendly and professional image. Escalates issues or provides information to Supervisor for resolution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serves as a primary, hands-on, licensed technician for all mechanical components, equipment and systems.
2. Works flexible hours, days and locations to fulfill assigned duties.
3. Ensures that all activities and projects are executed in line with best practice & standards.
4. Minimizes tobacco smoke and maximize environmental comfort in all occupied spaces.
5. Represents and negotiates on behalf of the company in the areas of responsibility.
6. Ensures all work is complete and approves payment to vendors and contractors.
7. Audits work of vendors, contractors and employees.
8. Collaborates with other trades and disciplines.
9. Estimates cost and forecasts needs for staffing, parts, equipment, tools, contracts and services.
10. Prioritizes, schedules and assigns work and projects.
11. Reads and interpret mechanical, architectural and electrical drawings and specifications.
12. Maintains the integrity of all facilities based on building codes and laws.
13. Safely operates over-the-road/utility vehicles, material handling equipment and personnel/forklifts.
14. Responsibly handles an assigned company credit card to perform assigned duties.
15. Inspects and is responsible for maintenance and repairs of assigned vehicles, equipment and tools.
16. Maintains all appropriate paperwork for inventory; maintenance and repair of assigned vehicles, parts, equipment and tools; licensing; and, personal employment requirements.
17. Assures prompt, courteous and competent service to all customers, internal and external.
18. Operates within the safety rules and codes set by the company.

This classification is a “safety sensitive” position as defined by MCNC. As a “safety sensitive” classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.

Education/Experience
Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC/Refrigeration experience and an associate’s degree in HVAC technology, military training is also acceptable.
Pay Scale
Minimum pay is $62,000 and goes with experience.
