Calling all passionate, energetic students: Vectorworks, Inc. seeks a Public Relations Intern to join our team for a dynamic internship opportunity this fall. The ideal candidate is someone who can inject a little wit and charm into their daily efforts. You’ll be working directly with our Communications Specialist and Digital Communications Coordinator to assist with our public relations and social media efforts. You’ll have the opportunity to write press releases, pitches, social media posts, blog posts, emails, and a variety of other content. Writing and editing press releases, social media posts, articles for the company's news site, marketing materials, and other copy as needed
Researching global industry trends and publications, as well as pitching editorial content
Assisting with the daily management of Vectorworks’ social media accounts, including creating and curating of engaging, shareable content
Reporting and analyzing statistics to refine and optimize social media, digital communications, and other digital marketing initiatives
Building and updating media lists and databases & tracking press clippings
Collaborating with team members on new campaigns, projects, and stories.
Tracking of industry awards and competitions
Other duties as assigned
Background in communications, public relations, advertising, journalism, marketing, or other related disciplines
GPA above 3.0
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to show initiative, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Passion for the PR industry and its best practices
Familiarity with social media marketing including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram
An ability to convey compelling messages, both in person and in writing
Interest in generating creative ideas that align with brand strategies
A positive attitude and willingness to work with the team to achieve goals
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
While flexible in the number of hours worked each week (16 - 20 per week), this is a paid position that will run from Sept 11th through Dec 15th, 2017
You must be at least 18 years of age with a degree in a related discipline, or be an undergraduate student entering your junior or senior year.
This is a paid internship and compensation will be based on qualifications. We currently do not provide housing or transportation reimbursement.
Interns are not eligible for company benefits.
