SUMMARY

To call on general contractors in the office territory and develop relationships with them that will allow us the opportunity to provide our goods and services on their projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cold call general contractors to solicit business from them
  • Follow up bids (quotes) sent to general contractors
  • Learn how to properly scope a project with a general contractor
  • Research any potential new projects that we have not already bid
  • Visit general contractor’s plan rooms to look for projects we are not already bidding
  • Organize daily/weekly activities with a focus in mind that drives face-to-face customer development
  • Seek new accounts outside of our current customer list
  • Understand and develop sales techniques that foster relationship selling
  • Retain and further develop any existing accounts
  • Develop technical aspects of business that allow you to resolve many field problems and to become a resource for your customers needs
  • Learn LaForce system of doing business
  • Learn how to estimate a job (small scale)
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all departments within LaForce and how to utilize each area of expertise
  • Learn to appreciate all different kinds of people and how to get the most from them

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
