Description

George School, a co-ed, 9-12, Quaker boarding/day school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA, seeks an experienced educator as a full time Associate Director of College Counseling for the school year 2016-17. Essential responsibilities include educating and assisting students and parents through the college search and application process, writing letters of recommendation for a caseload of 35-45 students, and keeping current with trends in national and international college admission with a willingness to travel.

 
Position Requirements

 Specific project areas include serving as back up to the coordinator for standardized testing, and program creation. Candidates should have excellent writing ability, facility with technology and database management, and generally, possess creativity, flexibility, energy, initiative, diplomacy, compassion, patience and a lively sense of humor. A willingness to fulfill common boarding school duties; the ability to work with a diverse student population; commitment to the traditions and philosophy of a Quaker educational community; and a style consistent with the Quaker testimonies are also important. Highest priority will be given to candidates with direct experience as a college counselor and/or experience working in a selective college admission office, with a minimum of five years of experience.
