Emergency Medical Team (EMT) 

Description SUMMARY
By assigned shift, provide immediate care to occupational and non-occupational patients in accordance with standards of emergency medical technician–basic level and physician standing orders. Apply EMT skills and principles to conserve, promote and restore the health of employees. Assist with maintenance of medical records and a variety of reports as assigned. Assist Risk Manager with Safety and Environmental initiatives as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1. Attend to people who become ill or suffer an injury on property, assessing physical/mental condition, obtaining health and medication history, providing appropriate medical care, taking/monitoring vital signs and coordinating necessary or requested emergency medical services.
2. Specific to EMT practices and physician standing orders, administer medical treatment such as cleaning wounds, applying topical ointments, applying/changing dressings removing sutures, issuing over-the-counter medications, immobilizing suspect fractures, performing CPR, using AED, removing foreign bodies.
3. Specific to EMT practices, render first aid and monitor vital signs until arrival of necessary or requested emergency medical services.
4. Obtain, conduct or coordinate appropriate employee health histories, and specified biological testing such as vision and hearing screening, alcohol/drug testing, chart and monitor employee condition, reaction and progress.
5. Champion Transitional Work Program; Report to Chief Nurse violations of Restricted Duty by employees when observed.
6. Establish and maintain confidential medical records of individuals treated for work related injuries, which for employees will include alcohol/drug testing results. Complete and process Workers Compensation claim forms and entries on occupational logs.
7. Assist employees in advocate for Life Assistance Program; facilitate Wellness initiatives.
8. Assist Risk Manager with Safety and Environmental programs and inspections as assigned; be a member of Emergency Response Team; may provide training to shift on such HSE topics as disease control, Bloodborne pathogens, food handling, first aid, CPR, AED application/use, PPE selection, use, care and maintenance.

Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
High school diploma plus completion of EMT Basic course (15 hours), passage of the National Registry Practical Exam, and current state of Oklahoma license and have current CPR certification.

EXPERIENCE
1 - 2 years experience in emergency or trauma care unit (civilian or military), or occupational health clinic or EMS unit.
Experience should reflect application of privacy standards, health regulations, medical recordkeeping and treatment protocols. Some experience with personal computing for recordkeeping/charting notes; spreadsheet and word processing software preferred.
Experience with privacy records, health regulations and codes; exposure to Workers Compensation law and related health care claims forms helpful but not critical
 
Gaming License Must obtain and maintain gaming license.
