AM - Summer Research Assistant

Location Princeton, NJ
Department Autonomic Management

Description

The security group of NEC Laboratories America in Princeton, NJ has multiple spring/summer intern openings in the areas of systems and security with a focus on big-data enabled enterprise security for advanced persistent threats (APT). Have you heard about the cyber-attacks against Target, Home Depot, Chase and recently Sony Pictures? Are you interested in coming up with ideas and building solutions to defend against those attacks and to make the world a safer place? Come and join us for an internship! We believe big-data approach is the answer to APT. The internship typically produces high quality publications, patents, and the implementation of a research prototype. Our previous internships have resulted in publications in top conferences such as USENIX Security, ACM CCS, NDSS, ACM SIGMETIRCS and VLDB etc.

The security group of NEC Labs is part of the larger Autonomic Management Department, whose goal is to conduct research on all aspects of large-scale complex IT systems.  The department has ongoing projects in enterprise security, big-data platform/analytics and cloud/data center management, bringing together experts in security, systems, networking, storage, big-data, data mining, and offering many opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary research. Our research leads to both award-winning NEC products/solutions and numerous publications in top conferences of security, system, and data management.
