Summary 

Serves as a Nursing Mental Health Professional in the provision of services for the Behavioral Health Program under the general direction of the Director of Mental Health Services.  Serves as a provider of psychiatric / mental health serves for identified individuals under the general supervision of the Director of Mental Health Services in providing services directly and in conjunction with other mental health entities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following:  Other duties may be assigned

 

Nursing Mental Health Professional

  • Provides services in the administration of medication or treatment to clients and provide behavioral health services to identified individuals in the Behavioral Health program.
  • Prepare assessments/evaluations, reports required for admissions, medication management, medical summaries, group services as needed, and completion of compliance documentation as appropriate.
  • Provide direct care behavioral / mental health service modalities as needed to designated individuals, including but not limited to:  Diagnostic Evaluations in determining a clinically justified DSM-5 diagnosis for treatment, Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, Collateral Interventions, Crisis Interventions, and other appropriate services. 
  • Will ensure the provision of direct care services meet all established protocols and in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Provide health and wellness assessments and training annually, or as indicated.
  • Monitor quarterly reports and monitor client medication to ensure adherence as indicated.  Will submit a report indicating any identified problems or training needs.
  • Will assist in selection of additional nursing services as needed or requested.
  • Will assist in maintaining compliance with established departmental and regulatory protocols.
  • Will assure the Medical Director / Physician remains updated with updated client and program information.
  • Will provide medical file reviews quarterly, recommending any corrective action and monitor until correction is complete.  Will provide a written statement of findings to Director of Mental Health Services / administrators.
  • Will provide and maintain documentation of current professional license to be on file at Pathfinder, Inc.
  • Will work in a cooperative team spirit with all employees and consultant staff of the department ensuring compliance with established protocols and other state and federal regulations governing the programs.

 

Psychiatric / Mental Health Services

  • Provide and participate in individual and group therapy experiences that involve the targeted population.
  • Prepare and administer injections in accordance with established physician orders.
  • Make referrals both internal and external for collateral services and consultative purposes as needed to ensure the highest overall quality of care.
  • Management and coordination of medication management/ psychiatric mental health
  • Management and coordination of Prior Authorizations for medication management and prescriptions.
  • Coordinate scheduling of medication management services.
  • Coordinate peer review process and chart compliance
  • May be required to provide consultation and education services to groups.
  • Assist psychiatrist in the preparation, development and review of eligibility, assesses and reviews documents, including RSPMI/ Medicaid documents.
  • Provides technical assistance to other Pathfinder staff and participating mental health providers.
  • Completes all compliance documentation (billing logs, GAT data, progress notes, etc.) in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Must be a State Licensed, Registered Nurse (RN), in good standing with State Board of Nursing and currently licensed by the State of Arkansas as established by Acts 432 of 1971, 613 of 1979, and 19 of 1981.
