Description

Responsible for planning and developing short and long term Product and Legal strategies related to the operation of Paychex Online Services products. Ensures successful implementation of all system changes, quality communications to the client base, timely and accurate production activities, and useful intelligence for leadership decision making.

  • Coordinates Paychex Online Services’ participation in Paychex sponsored projects in order to add or enhance product offerings by overseeing change requests generated by Compliance, Support, Development, and Product Management.
  • Prioritizes work of others, conducts business requirement gathering, user acceptance testing, and implementation for the purpose of mitigating risk and maximizing the benefits of planned releases.
  • Reviews cost/benefit and return on investment calculations included with change request submissions to ensure consistent prioritization of work and present to upper management with financial data to make decisions.
  • Supports various Internal project team leads and approves department project plans that are submitted by Management.
  • Acting as subject matter expert, assigns work and determines work schedules to ensure the necessary resources are available for each project.
  • Obtains sign-off from department managers on project definitions by gathering business requirements and the development approach with specific focus on client communication and impact to business flow to ensure all needs are identified and accounted for in the project planning.
  • Monitors project lifecycle activity to ensure that work is on schedule and adheres to original business requirements, in an effort to deliver high quality change within established timeframes.
  • Provides status updates to the management team using weekly dashboard results and monthly presentations, to ensure consistent information is available to all department leaders.
  • Acts as management level escalation channel for IT project leads, IT project managers, and other project personnel, making baseline management decisions. Also responsible for further escalation to individual department managers as required.
  • Oversees the testing and implementation of project and BAU change efforts from an operational perspective to ensure quality BAU and Project Releases that meet department requirements.
  • Provides direct leadership to the business analysts, responsible for complex client base production efforts, research, problem solving, vendor relationships, and coordination of external audits conducted by internal Compliance.
  • Decision maker for internal security monitoring and quality call monitoring content and scoring matrix, new releases as well as ammendments, for Quality monitoring within Online Services department.
  • Reviews all multiple-client communication efforts by creating drafts of communications and oversight of client email extract and status of deliveries to client base in order to ensure a consistent quality service experience.
  • Leads business analysts responsible for providing historical, current, and predictive views of business operations necessary for effective leadership decision making.
  • Recruits, selects, hires and evaluates performance of personnel to ensure all department needs are handled appropriately. Counsels and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs and other resources as required for professional advancement.
  • Prepares the capital and operating budgets for the cost center(s) and analyzes interdepartmental reports as they relate to the cost center(s). Achieves cost center projections through labor expense and administrative expense controls.
 
Position Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Human Resources preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant supervisor experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
