PURPOSE OF DIVISION
The Division of Public Relations manages the publishing and distribution of the corporation’s premier print and electronic publications, and videos. These include the annual report and specialized e-newsletters such as the NeighborWorks@Work and the NetWorks (for NeighborWorks organization executive directors and board presidents). The division also provides graphic design support to other business units throughout the corporation, provides overall content management, site development and design for NeighborWorks America websites, and coordinates the corporation’s Web strategy. This involves establishing and implementing corporate-wide policies, strategies and guidelines, and coordinating audience and strategies that guide the corporation’s Web presence. Public Relations also coordinates the delivery of related Web-based services to the corporation and the NeighborWorks network.


POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Public Relations (Operations), the Manager, Digital Media encompasses a range of communication responsibilities in the development of electronic communication materials to advance the corporation’s strategic goals and mission. Work requires the application of project management skills as well as professional editorial skills (e.g. planning, reporting, writing, editing and proofreading) in support of the corporation’s communication efforts. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
 

Writing and editing content for electronic communications, including the public website and email communications (internal and external), according to the NeighborWorks America and Associated Press style guides;

Working with NeighborWorks business units, managing overall maintenance of public website, ensuring the content is up-to-date and reflects overall communications strategies. Including coordinating the creation and design of new sections on public website with NeighborWorks’ business units, design staff and outside consultants as needed;

Managing email distribution, including list segmentation, through Benchmark;

Analyzing web metrics monthly to assess web performance and adjusting web strategy;

Using best practices in new media, developing strategies for increasing reach of and interaction with NeighborWorks social media channels (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube);

Managing NeighborWorks social media channels by ensuring content is updated daily and meets communication goals while adhering to company policy;

Staying up-to-date on current issues, topics and resources relating to the community development field and to digital communications strategies;

Participating on divisional and/or unit planning teams as appropriate;

Coordinating the work of web/editorial consultants as needed;

Other job related duties as assigned.

Fiscal Responsibilities:
Monitoring of digital media expenses, personal expense report submission, travel card, vendor contract monitoring and evaluation.   

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Eduation: A bachelor's degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism or related field. 
(b) Experience: At least three (3) years’ work experience as a website content editor or similar role. 
(c) Licenses, Certifications: None required. 
(d) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to efficiently organize work and multi-task.

(e) Technology: Various social media platforms, and Microsoft Office suite of applications.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with or knowledge of affordable housing/community revitalization issues a plus. Five (5) years’ experience writing news and feature stories strongly preferred.  Knowledge in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) including Google Analytics preferred. Understanding and application of user experience. Experience with Kentico or similar CMS and SharePoint preferred. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong project management skills.
