Summary:  Processes and maintains records of financial transactions as scheduled to assure the operation of a courteous, efficient and accurate department in conformity with established policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Manages suspense and cash item accounts.
  • Balances daily cash and Buy/Sell account.
  • Processes overdrafts through the system in accordance with governing regulations.
  • Daily researches and processes all items from the “unposted items” report.
  • Takes the initiative to recognize changes and develop new, more efficient methods and procedures.
  • Processes returns according to procedures.
  • Maintains Sweep File and Stop Payment File.
  • Processes Charge Offs.
  • Completes research requests and subpoenas.
  • Researches Due-from accounts.
  • Audit and compare large currency transaction reports with daily CTR’s.
  • Process and create reports for Safe Deposit Boxes.
  • Scans and indexes documents to On-Base
  • Balances official checks
  • Refunds and records customer refunds
  • Audits new accounts
  • Performs and verifies critical maintenance
  • Makes entries and balances ICS
  • Balances DDA, CD, ATM, Loan and Safe Deposit Box in-process accounts
  • Completes all escheat procedures for both Michigan and Wisconsin
  • Answers phone calls from the branch personnel with questions
  • Handles levies and garnishments

Other Responsibilities:

Perform other related duties as required or assigned that are in the spirit of this job description and position as necessary for the Bank and the Department to function effectively.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Outlooks, Word, and Excel) and advanced keyboarding and ten-key skills.
