Job Title:  Educational Site Leader II

Employment Status: Part-Time

Job Summary: Under limited supervision, and receiving general guidance and direction, uses skills obtained through experience and/or formal training to create and provide a safe, learning environment designed to engage students in academic, recreation, and enrichment activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Program Supervisor, create, facilitate, maintain, and evaluate the day-to-day operations of a 21st Century CLC program.

  • With the assistance of the principal and other school faulty, identify students who meet program participation criteria.

  • Work with the Program Supervisor and after school program staff (teachers, instructors, tutors, paraprofessionals) to create an after school program designed to engage students in stimulating enrichment activities to build core academic skills, confidence, and life skills.

  • Monitor, mentor, coach and evaluate site staff to ensure the quality of program content and delivery.

  • Gather student data for the purpose of recruiting and grouping students, and demonstrating program/student growth and areas of needed improvement.

  • In collaboration with the evaluator, principal, and the Program Supervisor, analyze data collected to help inform and direct program activities.

  • Work with the Program Supervisor to lead professional development in academic best practices.

  • Manage site record keeping requirements. These include EZ Reports Database, Michigan Department of Human Services Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers, and United States Department of Agriculture reporting requirements: attendance, student information, sessions/activities/events, student grades and goals.Other record keeping tasks as assigned by the Program Supervisor (learner’s profiles, template of academic data, site staffing plan etc.).

  • With the assistance of the Program Supervisor lead meetings during regular “check points” following the release of student data (testing, report cards, etc.). These meetings will inform principal and program staff of student achievement, and will help in making timely decisions regarding the program design, curricula/strategies used, and staffing.

  • Effectively communicate site information (program direction, change of schedule, field trip, etc.),to necessary people (Program Supervisor, site team, vendor and building staff).

 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Educational processes and techniques attributed to age group of assigned functional area.

Skill in:

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Office.

Ability to:

  • Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.

  • Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressed.

  • Incite enthusiasm and influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Interpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriate.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Required Disciplines:

    • Elementary or Secondary Education, Child Guidance/Counseling or a related field

      ~and~

  • At least 1-2 years experience working in a leadership capacity

  • At least 2 years experience in an educational setting and/or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Licenses/Certifications Required at Date of Hire:

  • Teaching Certificate

Working Conditions:

Hours:            Normal business hours.  Some additional hours may be required.

Travel required: local travel

Working Environment:         Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.
