Description

Manages multiple sales districts in accordance with corporate guidelines to ensure districts achieve all objectives, including attainment of quotas. Provides direction and operational support to the district sale managers and sales staff to ensure increased health and benefits sales and profits through an increased client base.

  • Senior Sales Manager can be located in Cleveland, Ohio, Detroit, MI or Pittsburgh, PA
  • Responsible for achieving sales results within their own district and of their assigned district(s).
  • Assists Zone Manager in the implementation of sales strategies.
  • Initiates, participates in, and supervises development of assigned District Sales Manager(s), Sales Agents and Sales Development Associates in technical knowledge, competitive knowledge, and sales skills knowledge.
  • Works with assigned DSMs to ensure appropriate hiring, coaching, development and performance management of sales staff.
  • Identifies potential management candidates and brings to the attention of the Zone Manager.
  • Monitors district attainment versus forecast and takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Works with district sales manager(s) in area of responsibility regarding development and retention of staff.
  • Works with key partners to develop mutual objectives and resolve problems using partnership principles
  • Projects a positive image in representing the corporation to clients and the community. Analyzes sales trends in assigned districts and provides proactive recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Recruits, selects, and directs sales staff in meeting or exceeding corporate goals. Evaluates and recommends personnel actions, such as promotion, salary changes, termination.
  • Monitors appropriate use of resources and management of expenses in order to meet financial plans and budgets.
  • Display and adhere to the highest standards of ethics and Paychex values as outlined in the Paychex code of conduct and in the standards outlined in licensing requirements for all agents.
  • Oversee pipeline management to ensure appropriate sales activities leading to revenue growth.
  • Analyzes business and sales metrics in order make sound business decisions and takes corrective measures as required.
  • Involved in setting sales strategy for H&b sales along with the zone managers.
  • Mentors DSM to create high performing team by working with DSMs and role modeling manager behaviors directly with Agents.
 
Position Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or marketing if preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in sales or marketing.
