Summary:  Provides personalized banking services to new and existing financial institution customers.  Under general supervision, but in compliance with established policies and procedures, performs a broad variety of customer services by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Evaluates needs of potential customers and offers appropriate financial products and services.

  • Promotes and cross-sells other establishment products and services as appropriate to customer requirements and specific goals as outlined for each Personal Banker.  Is responsible for attaining bank and non-bank referrals, as well as established quarterly and yearly goals, including but not limited to, new accounts, check cards, documentation accuracy, on-line, and electronic funds transfers.
  • Identifies customer needs regarding financial matters, advising them on products, rates and suggesting a strategy to obtain the best results based on individual desires and resources.  Assists customer and/or attorneys with estate issues, i.e., death disbursements, owner transfer of deposit account and savings bonds.
  • Resolves customer problems.  Obtains information, researches records and follows up on details to resolve the matter efficiently.
  • Prepares and compiles new customer application and information to open new account.  Creates accurate CIF & CIP files for all customers.  Maintains documents in files, i.e. Death Certificates, POA’s, POD’s, Funeral Trusts, Court Letters and Deposit Resolutions.
  • Performs other retail banking duties as assigned or needed, such as set up and service customer on netteller, safe deposit box program, pull and file closed account documents and backup teller line.
  • Provides ongoing relationship servicing with current customers to maintain goodwill and gain additional business. Informs and advises customers of status or enhancements to current account productivity, and suggests resolution on account disputes and other account activity.
  • Generates new business to assist in meeting establishment profitability goals.
  • Interviews applicant to determine consumer loan requirement and gather pertinent information for loan application.
  • Submits loan application via the Baker Hill Bank2Consumer system for credit analysis and recommendation.
  • Understands and adheres to the Loan Policy Guidelines as they relate to consumer lending.
  • Understands and adheres to compliance issues as they relate to consumer lending.
  • Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan and for cross selling opportunities.
  • Reviews the loan in Baker Hill Bank2Consumer for loan approval conditions, obtains proper approval for all exceptions, or refers the loan to the loan committee for approval if necessary.
  • Orders verifications/ supporting loan documentation / title work based on loan type.
  • Resolves uncertainties relating to customer application information through inquiries with applicant or creditors.
  • Compiles loan package and facilitates negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.
  • Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to establishment policy.
  • Assures timely loan closing and funding activities.

Other Responsibilities:

Perform other related duties as required or assigned that are in the spirit of this job description and position as necessary for the Bank and the Department to function effectively.

•May be expected to fill in at other bank locations based on business/staffing requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and advanced keyboarding and ten-key skills.
