Environment Manager 

Description

This position requires experience with test environment configuration management, utilizing complex system integration and formal software development life cycles and projects. Candidates should have a strong IT background with the ability to work across multiple platforms, delivery teams and business units.  This position will report to the Sr. Analyst in charge of Conversion Environment Management and work closely with other members of the Conversion and BAU Release Management, testing team, and delivery teams within IT.  What is Environment Management (EM)?

Environment Management performs the setup and configuration of non-prod/test environments. The environments are used by system testers to test projects that are slated to go live in production. The EM Team works closely with application developers to ensure the correct code levels are maintained, conduct any data refreshes as required, and works with Data Center Operations to ensure end-to-end connectivity and stability of the testing environments. EM ensures that defects related to environment stability are addressed in a timely manner. The EM Team also communicates regularly with all partners within the IT organization.

 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in IT in project or configuration management
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Solid communications skills to interact with team members, developers, and leadership across IT and client organizations
  • Ability to prioritize work load and issues, to ensure problems are addressed in order of importance
  • Ability to lead a system checkout conference call
    • Ensure testing is complete
    • Analyze results and engage support resources as required
    • Report results to leadership
  • Ability to document system flows and configurations
  • Familiarity with Frontier systems, interfaces, and dependencies is a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Experience with HP Quality Center is a plus
  • Knowledge of basic SQL commands is a plus
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel in support of large system conversion project
  • Willingness to work different shifts as required (nights/weekends)

Education:

4 year degree or equivalent work experience
